Synopsis

Marie Angeletti is young, beautiful and happy. But life has given her certain attributes that she quickly realizes come with pain and sacrifice. Raised into a super-human through mind-programming, she can do almost anything she wants, until she realizes she is in love with her best friend, Michael Shaw.

Michael has been targeted by a criminal mastermind who experiments in his own kind of mind programming that always ends in the death of his subjects. Marie is unsure if she can go on without knowing if her friend loves her too, but she finds out too late that even though she can protect him, a price must be paid.

Angelic tells a story of love and pain. It's about teenagers in high school, about crime on the streets, and what lengths one girl will go to protect the one she loves.

Re-write.

Has it really been so long since I began this story?  I am not even really sure why I am writing this;  I unfortunately don't have any real updates at this very moment.  It has been so long since I typed anything on here, posting another (seemingly) pointless thought of mine is actually harder than you would think.

Right around this time last year, I paid someone to read through the story as it stands on Nook and Kindle right now and give me feedback for what needs to change.  I received a very macro level, very helpful overview on what I needed to fix to improve this story.  Getting feedback on something that so quickly becomes like another child can be hard, but I was, (and still am) still determined to give this story the attention it deserves.  I began my re-write and got about 1.5 chapters into it, sent that to my editor, and was given the nod that I was heading in the right direction.

However, my intentions almost went to naught because I began teaching at my local community college, an endeavor what was necessary for many different reasons, but the end result was that the story of Michael and Marie got shelved.  Shelved that is, until May of this year.  I was not given the opportunity to teach any summer classes for the community college, and so I became determined to not let this "free-time" in the summer go to waste.  I say free-time with some serious tongue-in-cheek since me and my wife are so incredibly busy that we scarcely have time to breathe.

Anyway, that is where I am today.  Chapter six is about finished.  Up to this point it has been a completely new, (only with very few minor selections from the prior text).  Hopefully at some point I will be able to begin using more of the old text as the changes I make begin to meld better with what I wrote before.  But if it never does, I will still press on, even if I have to re-write the entire thing.  I have to believe that the story of Michael and Marie is worth telling; and worth telling right.  Hopefully, I will be done by August 18th... when classes resume.

Enjoy!

Kindle Version!

Wow. It has been a really long time since I have posted here. However, today marks a new milestone in this fun little writing exercise; I have self-published my story for anyone to read through Kindle. (Yay!)

Angelic: Beginning is in its final draft... for now. That is not to say that it is free from errors or things that need to be changed. With the limited time in life I have right now, it has to be ready. It is one dollar to purchase. Any feedback I can get from anyone is greatly appreciated as I am continuing to work on another story. Please, if you are interested buy it and read it! :-) Otherwise, forward this website to anyone who you think might be interested.

My story can be found by searching "Angelic: Beginning" on Amazon in a Kindle search, or by clicking on this link below: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004KAA9V6

For those who do not know much about Kindle, it is an eReader. You can buy the Kindle, (an electronic tablet-like device) or download a free reader for many different operating systems: http://www.amazon.com/kindle-store-ebooks-newspapers-blogs/b?ie=UTF8&node=133141011

Soon to follow: this story in other formats, (i.e., nook, iBooks, hard copy, etc.).

Thank you!

Alright, here is the second part I would like to share, and maybe the last for a while. This takes place a little less than half-way through the story. A little less, content-wise, than the first section I posted, but hopefully a little more rewarding. (?)

Enjoy!

Synopsis

Angelic is about a girl named Marie Angeletti. On the inside she is a very abnormal girl. Raised by her father until she was about fifteen years old, she has been mind-programmed to a state of almost inhuman perfection. She is brilliant, strong, and fast. She has been trained to fight, think and out-smart any foe. On the outside however, she keeps all of these skills and attributes perfectly hidden.

At the beginning of the first chapter, her father has unexpectedly left her, and she is forced to learn about the world on her own while growing and maturing into a woman. She has two friends, Michael and Zach. Together the threesome have weathered most everything, until Marie discovers her feelings of love for Michael. Marie struggles not knowing if Michael reciprocates those same feelings, and she fears losing the best friend of her life while also wanting him so much more than a friend.

Angelic is also about Michael. At the outset of the story, in his junior year Michael has very suddenly found that he has a natural talent at playing football, a talent that lands him on their high school varsity team and into newfound popularity. Michael has been raised by only his mother, without a lot of money or other extra things. Michael's concerns are for his future, college and enough money for both.

As the story progresses you will be introduced to a man who's only goal is to raise his empire from crime to legitimacy. He has a special interest in human mind control and thinks that it could be the answer to an eventual utopia where 'stupid' people no longer exist. He targets young, intelligent and athletically superior males for experimentation. He also has a very disturbing knowledge of Marie and where she came from.

The First Entry

Here I am, sitting in front of the computer... starting the first post of a 110,000 word story, and I have no idea what to type. Bad time for writer's block. :-)

Angelic is a story that created itself in my mind for about 8 years before I ever began actually writing it down. It is a story that encapsulates sacrifice, growth, learning and most importantly love in the lives of a few people. It is very much a fictitious story, set in, (hopefully) believable human emotions.

Before you begin reading anything else, you should know that Angelic is much like a comic book. For years I have considered some of the best stories in the world trapped inside comic book pictures. Recent movies like Spider-man or Batman have shown us how dramatic these comic book stories can truly be! I absolutely loved the end of the first Spider-man with Tobey Maguire as he forced himself to walk away from the love of his life. That is a tragic hero, exactly what I am aspiring to in this story.

Even though I am tempted to stress that this is the first story I have ever written, and thus should be given some leeway... I would rather you simply enjoy this because you like it, because you think its good. So, if you are brave enough to read-on, don't pull any punches, let me know what you think!
